Share market update: FMCG shares trade lower; ITC dips 2%

NEW DELHI: FMCG shares were trading in the negative zone in Monday's morning session.

Shares of ITC (down 1.9 per cent), Emami (down 1.62 per cent), United Spirits (down 1.53 per cent), Tata Global Beverages (down 0.91 per cent), Britannia Industries (down 0.56 per cent), Hindustan Unilever (down 0.39 per cent), Godrej Consumer Products (down 0.25 per cent), Nestle India (down 0.25 per cent) and Marico (down 0.21 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The Nifty FMCG index was trading 0.69 per cent down at 30424.55 around 10:36 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 136.80 points at 11944.05 , while the BSE Sensex was down 439.8 points at 40,730.32.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 7 were trading in the green, while 43 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, GMR Infra, SBI, Tata Motors, Ashok Leyland, PNB, Aurobindo Pharma and Bharti Infratel were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
