AHMEDABAD: As US President Donald Trump arrives in Ahmedabad on Monday, along with his family, he will be served a scrumptious mix of traditional Gujarati and English snacks. Gujarati delicacies including khaman, samosa and kadak chai will be part of the spread laid for the US president, his family and 100 other delegates, over high tea, which will be served during the US president’s visit to the Sabarmati Ashram.
“Gujarati delicacies including khaman, samosa made of broccoli and corn, chai and kaju-katli would be part of the high-tea menu. That apart, juice, assorted cookies, fortune cookies and apple pie would also be part of the specially curated menu,” said chef Suresh Khanna, executive chef at Ahmedabad-based Fortune Landmark Hotel.
The Gujarat tourism department has approved the menu, Khanna added. Since the temperature in the city has begun getting warm, special care has been taken to avoid use of potato and cottage cheese in the menu.
