Protest against CAA, NRC in Gorakhpur

Gorakhpur: Dalit outfits Bhim Army, Asur Chatra Sangathan and Purvanchal Sena staged a sit-in against Citizen Amendment Act (CAA) and National Register of Citizens (NRC) at Laxmi Bai Park in Gorakhpur on Sunday. They also protested against indirectly ending reservation in government jobs.
The protesters, carrying placards, banners and posters, raised slogan ‘Aarakshan Bachao, constitution bachao’, ‘CAA,NRC –NPR hatao, Desh bachao’. They also gave a memorandum addressed to the President, PM and Home Minister of the country at the DM’s office.
President of Purvanchal Sena Dheerendra Pratap said, “CAA is anti-constitution and actually it is a way of changing constitution. NRC based on a piece of document is not acceptable to us. Instead we demand DNA-based NRC. tnn
