IMFL worth Rs 40k seized in Rajkot

Rajkot: Indian-made foreign liquor (IMFL) bottles worth Rs 40,800 were seized from an autorickshaw on Dudh Sagar Road at Riddhi Siddhi Gujarat Housing Board Society in Rajkot on Saturday night. “We had received a tip-off that a large cache of liquor was being ferried in an autorickshaw that was scheduled to pass by Dudh Sagar Road. Acting on this information, we had kept a watch and intercepted the rickshaw. However, the rickshaw driver, whose identity could not be ascertained, abandoned his vehicle and vanished into the cover of darkness,” said an official from Thorala police station.
