‘Namaste Trump', is a paean to Donald Trump's two-day visit to India
Surat: ‘Sher ne sher ko bulaya hai, vo bhi yari nibhane aya hai’, a melodious song composed and sung by Chirag Thakkar, a city-based musician, has become popular on social media. ‘Namaste Trump’, a paean to Donald Trump's two-day visit to India from Monday, is dedicated to the friendship between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the US President.
It being the first visit of Trump to India, Thakkar planned to welcome him with a song and got it recorded in just 15 hours thanks to support of his friends namely Vihul Jagirdar and Darshan Zaveri. The 4.45 minute song is sung by Thakkar, Jagirdar and Pooja Modi Kalyani. The group has shot a video of the song as well.
“It was not pre-planned but after it was confirmed that Trump was indeed coming, we decided to honour the US President and Modi with a song. I think it is first time that a President of the USA is directly coming to Gujarat and it is a matter of pride for me,” Thakkar said.
“Trump is going to visit Sabarmati Ashram as well. Mahatma Gandhiji's favourite devotional song Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram too is there in 'Namaste Trump',” Thakkar added.
“Trump is arriving in Ahmedabad and as a Gujarati, we wanted to greet him. I have focused on the personalities of the two leaders. They both are loved by the people of their respective countries,” lyricist Jagirdar said.
‘Namaste Trump' starts with Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram tune. “We remember the Father of the Nation at the start of our song,” added Jagirdar.
