Vadodara: In a first of its kind initiative towards internationalization, city-based Parul University (PU) hosted a weeklong international week bringing together academicians from three European countries and Russia.
PU’s department of international relations organized the week, which is designed to promote global academic practices among nations across the world.
The international delegations included experts from Russia, Estonia, Germany and Lithuania.
The event was aimed at widening and strengthening cooperation between PU and institutions across Europe. The experts who took part in the event included professor Nida Macerauskiene, dean of business management, and Alina Katunian, tourism head from Vilniaus Kolegija, University of Applied Sciences, Lithuania.
Professor Mari-Ann Susi and professor Mari Maesaar, summer programme directors from University of Tartu, Estonia along with professor Julian Gollan, research assistant at RUHR West University, Germany and professor Gleb Aleksandrov, international coordinator from ITMO University, Russia were among other experts.
“With ever changing dynamics of the world, it is not only enough to create partnerships but there is a need to continuously reinforce and strengthen these ties to stay in touch with contemporary needs of higher education,” said PU president Dr Devanshu J Patel.
