Chennai: 19-year-old BTech student found dead in college

CHENNAI: A nineteen-year-old BTech student was found dead in her room at the hostel of SRM university at Potheri on Saturday.
Police said Ayushi Rana from Punjab was found hanging by fellow students who peeped through the window when she didn't come out for a long while. Her suicide is the fourth in the last year at the Potheri campus.
The Maraimalai Nagar police said Ayudhi Rana did not leave behind any suicide note and they were investigating the reason behind the death.
On July 17, director-general of police J K Tripathy, had ordered a CB-CID probe into the deaths on the campus as three students had committed suicide between May 26 and July 15 On July 15, Sree Raghav, a final year BTech student from Kanyakumari committed suicide by jumping from the seventh floor of the SRM college building.
On May 26, a final year bio-medicine student Anupriya from Tiruvallur committed suicide by jumping from the eighth floor of her hostel.
