Residents donate blood as show of unity against CAA

Ludhiana: Members of various communities donated blood as a mark of protest against what they called the ‘black law’ of CAA, during a protest sit-in at the city’s ‘Shaheen Bagh’ on Sunday. The blood donation camp was organised by Rehras Society.
Muhammad Mustakeem, private secretary of Shahi Imam Punjab, said in the blood donation camp, members of Sikh, Muslim, Hindu, and Christian communities donated blood to register their protest against the Modi government’s ‘black law’. He added that Shahi Imam Maulana Habib-ur-Rehman Saani Ludhianvi also reached the protest sit-in to boost the morale of the protestors.
Addressing the gathering, the Shahi Imam said, “Divisive forces should come and witness that the blood of every community member is red, and no power on earth can change it.” He added that those calling the protestors as ‘tukde tukde gang’ should know that people have come out to defend the Constitution and their self-respect.
“Government machinery and political conspiracy cannot muzzle the voice of protestors,” the head priest said, and added, “Shaheen Bagh at Ludhiana is a part of Delhi’s Shaheen Bagh, where people of various religions bloom in the garden, and assert to the enemy that they will not allow the garden to be destroyed.”
The maulana said he foresaw such Shaheen Baghs coming up in every city, town, and village of the country. In his address to the protestors, former MLA Shingara Ram Sehonganda said, “No one will be allowed to commit a dacoity on the rights given to them by the architect of the Constitution, BR Ambedkar. Seeing the members of various communities protesting against CAA and NRC together at Shaheen Bagh, I feel the mission of BR Ambedkar is moving forward.”
Parampal Singh, a leader among the protestors, said they would never allow the exclusion of the Muslim community in CAA. He added that the Sikh panth had maintained it would take everyone along.
