JAISALMER: The preliminary medical
report received by
Barmer police on Sunday revealed that the Barmer
youth was not sodomised with an iron rod.
Though the sonography report was yet to be received, prima facie no inhuman act with the victim has come to light. However, the
medical test was done more than 20 days after the incident happened.
Revenue minister Harish Chaudhary and Barmer MLA Mewaram Jain on Sunday spoke to the victim and his brother at Barmer rural police station. The victim reiterated what had been mentioned in the FIR and demanded justice.
Victim’s brother had told police that his sibling kept quiet about the attack on him on January 29 until someone shared a video clip purportedly showing two men attacking him repeatedly and later using a rod to sodomise him.
However, revenue minister Harish Chaudhary assured the victim that the state government will ensure impartial probe in the matter. Chaudhary also met Jodhpur IG Navjyoti Gogoi and IG human rights Vipin Kumar Pandey.
Chaudhary said the incidents in Barmer and Nagaur are very disappointing. He said he met the Dalit family at Nagaur and took information of the entire incident. The victim was satisfied with the kind of action the government and police were taking, he added.
Barmer SP Sharad Choudhary said the medical report of the victim has been received and prima facie there has been no inhuman act.
The SP, however, said there are marks on shoulder and back of the victim.
