Even before the release of Trisha’s hit romantic film 96 in 2018, the actress announced that she will be part of a political thriller titled Paramapadham Vilaiyattu, directed by debutant K Thirugnanam. Though the production of the film got delayed due to various reasons, the makers completed the project in December 2019 and decided to release it on February 28.
Chennai:
Meanwhile, producer Suresh Kamatchi, who is currently busy with Maanadu, lashed out at the actress for the same. “The director has made a matured film, which will be a milestone in Trisha’s career. When top actors like Rajini and Vijay attend promotional events, why can’t Trisha be a bit responsible? Why should producers pay these actors when there are lots of freshers waiting for offers? Do they think they become a bigger person in stature if they do not meet the press and the fans?” Paramapadham Vilaiyattu is produced by 24HRS Productions.
On Saturday, they organised a pre-release event in the city along with the entire cast and crew. However, Trisha, who plays the central character in the film, gave the event a miss and has earned the wrath of the producers. Speaking at the event, producer T Siva of Amma creations said, “These days, even films with established heroes fail to do business if they are not promoting the project in the right way. Paramapadham Vilaiyattu is a female-centric film, which completely revolves around Trisha’s character. It is her responsibility to promote this film, which also has a bunch of newcomers. There might be a genuine reason for her to skip the event. However, if she fails to participate in upcoming promotions of the film, she should return a portion of her salary to the producer.”
