Crocodile rescued in Mulund after over 40 days

MUMBAI: The five-and-half feet long adult crocodile which was spotted at a construction site early this January, was finally rescued today morning with the help of forest officials and wildlife activists.
The Wildlife Welfare Association (WWA) and the Resqink Association for Wildlife Welfare (RAWW) were involved in the crocodile rescue.
"The crocodile was often seen inside the man-made pond of the construction site at Swapnanagari in Mulund (west). The construction activity was not taking place here for a while for some other reasons and the croc had somehow come here in the waterbody. After a lot of effort we managed to rescue it on Sunday morning," said Aditya Patil, president of WWA.
Pawan Sharma of RAWW added that the crocodile will now be safely released in another pond in the wild with the help of forest officials.
