Woman who died before Urdd Eisteddfod she helped organise will be honoured at event

A woman who died in a car crash will be posthumously honoured as an Honorary President at this year’s Urdd National Eisteddfod.

Margaret Edwards, 74, from Betws Gwerfyl Goch near Corwen, died in the collision on the A5 at Pentrefoelas on December 28.

North Wales Police issue safety warning to motorists over roads closed by weather

North Wales Police have issued a warning to motorists after drivers ignored road closure signs put in place following severe flooding.

Several road closures have been put in place over the last two days after torrential rain battered the region.

Frightening pictures show stranded biker clinging to hedge surrounded by raging flood water

Pictures show how a biker was left clinging to a hedge as he waited to be rescued after becoming trapped in raging flood water.

The incident happened on the B5426 in Bangor on Dee, Wrexham at around 4.15pm after the road, and surrounding fields, had become totally submerged.

A470 reopened

Biker saved from Wrexham flood as rescuers are called to same spot for second time in a day

A motorcyclist had to be rescued by the emergency services after getting trapped in flood water in Wrexham.

Police, fire crews, paramedics and the North East Wales Search and Rescue team (NEWSAR) were called to the incident on the B5426 in Bangor on Dee shortly before 4.15pm.

Reports car going wrong way on A55

There are reports on social media that a car has been seen going the wrong way up the A55 westbound, just before St Asaph.

Weather forecast

The Met Office says there will be another wet and windy start to the day tomorrow, with some heavy bursts of rain at times.

The rain will eventually ease by the afternoon, leaving brighter but cloudy conditions.

The A55 Conwy Tunnel Westbound will shortly be closed for essential repair work.

Sheep bring A55 to a halt for second time this weekend

The A55 eastbound in Flintshire had to be closed while sheep were removed from the carriageway.

The sheep were reported to be on the Ewloe Loop to J35 Dobshill.

They have been removed from the road and the A55 has now reopened.

It comes a day after sheep, a dog and a donkey all caused trouble on the A55 in a day of unusual animal sightings.

The dual carriageway had to be closed from Junction 27 in St Asaph near St Margaret’s Church (Marble Church) at around midday after a number of sheep escaped from a nearby field.

Vehicle fire closes A543 Bylchau

The A543 between Bylchau and Denbigh (nearer to Bylchau) is closed at the moment due to a vehicle fire.

Police are asking motorists to find an alternative route.

Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury's, Morrisons and more are urgently recalling products due to health concerns

Products sold by major retailers are being recalled this week over health concerns.

The affected items, which include a popular yoghurt brand and vegan alternatives, are currently being removed from shelves as a precautionary measure.

Queueing traffic on A483 Wrexham Bypass Southbound between A539 J1 (Ruabon) and A5 (Halton Roundabout).

Two men have been arrested at Holyhead Port on suspicion of conspiracy to rob after two men were killed in a cannabis factory robbery.

Crash closes A470 Powys

Part of the A470 in Llangurig, Powys has closed following a crash.

The incident has happened on the Llangurig Roundabout onto the A44.

B5382 closed due to sink hole between Llansannan (Llansannan) and Llangernyw (Llangernyw).

Diversion - via A544 to Llanfair Talhaiarn and A548.
