Government school teacher allegedly booked for beating student in Kurukshetra

KURUKSHETRA: A government school teacher of Sandholi village has been allegedly booked for beating a Class X student reportedly after he misbehaved with him in Pehowa block of Kurukshetra district on Saturday.
A case under Section 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), 3 (punishment for offences of atrocities) of the SC/ST Act and 75 of the Juvenile Justice Act has been registered at Pehowa police station.
The student who studies in Government School at Sandholi village alleged, "The mathematics teacher of their school has beaten him brutally and has also commented on his caste. The student alleged that the teacher threatened him of not marking his assessment marks and not giving roll number for Class X board examinations."
Pehowa DSP Dheeraj Kumar said, "Such a case has been registered and both the parties have been called on Monday and further investigation will be done after recording their statements. The student alleged that his teacher has assaulted him and commented on his caste as well. The reason behind the incident is yet unclear."
