Bengaluru: Ola syncs SoS button with police control room

BENGALURU: App-based cab firm Ola has integrated its in-app emergency button with the police control room.
"Whenever a customer presses t he 'emergency button', they will have the option to call police directly via 100. Once this is activated, police will have real-time access to the customer's ride information and the vehicle's GPS coordinates, enabling quicker response and on-ground support from the nearest police team. Ola's Safety Response Team will also immediately contact the customer and provide on-phone assistance until the customer's safety is confirmed," Ola said
Police commissioner Bhaskar Rao said, "With shared cab services being a popular mode of transport in the city, Bengaluru police now offer great convenience and ensure citizens a secure ride-hailing experience by integrating Suraksha app with the Ola application."
Ola COO Arun Srinivas said, "We will continue to work with the authorities and set global benchmarks in fostering a safe, convenient and integrated mobility ecosystem in our cities."
