PATNA: In an apparent attempt to counter
Prashant Kishor’s "
Baat Bihar Ki" programme; Chhtra JD(U)-- the student wing of ruling JD(U)-- on Friday decided to launch a "Chalo Nitish Ke Sang" (move along with
Nitish Kumar) progamme at all 477 constituent and affiliated colleges and 10 traditional universities across the state from March 15.
"Workers of the Chhtra JD(U) will go to all colleges and universities and hold a series of progrmame on the campus to inform youths about the works done by Bihar CM Nitish Kumar for improving educational scenario in the state," JD(U) MLC and party in-charge for Chhatra JD(U) Ranbir Nandan told TOI on Friday.
He said the Chhtra JD(U) would soon launch a toll-free number also. "Any student can enroll as Chhtra JD(U) member by making a call on that number. We will soon issue the said number,” Nandan said.
Kishor to has launched a toll-free number for enrolling youths under the “Baat Bihar Ki’ programme.
The JD(U) MLC said the "Chalo Nitish Ke Sang" programme would continue for a period of two months till May 15. During the period, the Chhtra JD(U) activists would hold different types of programmes in the campuses and also make people aware about the benefits of the state government’s flagship programme- "
Jal-Jivan-Hariyali Abhiyan."
"Recently, questions were raised as to what Nitish Kumar has done for improving quality of education in the state," Nandan said without taking name of Kishor.
"Now, Chhtra JD(U) members will move to campuses and make person-to- person contact among students and inform them how Nitish Kumar make a change in the education scenario in the state," he said.
Kishor, during his press conference on Tuesday, had alleged that Nitish Kumar failed to improve quality of education in Bihar during the last 15 years.
More than three lakh youths registered for Kishor’s ambitious "Baat Bihar Ki" programme by Friday evening.
To a question, how the JD(U) will counter Kishor, when he had already started enrolling youths by launching a toll-free number, Nandan said, "We do not have competition with any one. But our toll-free number will be released soon."
