The concept of an amalgamation between the Holiday Inn Express Hotel and branded suites is being experimented by IHG in Europe for the first time. The 99-key property will feature 83 standard rooms as well as 16 separate suites making it the first apartment hotel property in the locality. Though each suite is equipped with a kitchenette, the complimentary breakfast facility will still be available for the guests to access. In addition, there will be a living space and a separate sleeping area for guests planning a prolonged stay.

The property will also offer car parking, carpool, petrol station and restaurant facility. Located along the A1 motorway which connects Netherlands and Germany on the outskirts of Deventer, the site would be easily accessible for travellers. Five different international airports are all 90 minutes’ drive away from the property. The closeness to bus line 6 and onward railway connections all across Europe makes the German and Amsterdam borders less than one hour away from the site.

Matt Luscombe, CEO, Cycas Hospitality said in a press statement that the prominent hotel management company has successfully enjoyed the suites and standard rooms concept in other continents. He mentioned that Cycas is delighted to be joining hands with IHG to materialize the concept in Europe. Meanwhile, Willemijn Geels, Vice President, Europe Development, IHG shared that IHG and Cycas have a history of working as a group. Therefore, IHG looks forward to witnessing Cycas develop and launch the new initiative.

Sylvan van der Linde, Owner, Van der Linde Architecten, further added that the architecture company will get the best out of the project to contribute to the growing trend of flexible accommodation.

The property is all set to open in The Netherlands latest by early 2021.
