NEW DELHI: A day after its first meeting, members of the Shri
Ram Janmabhoomi Tirth Kshetra Trust called on PM
Narendra Modi on Thursday and invited him to
Ayodhya for ‘bhoomi pujan’ of the Ram temple. “We invited the PM to Ayodhya and he has assured that he will consider it,” president of the trust Nritya Gopal Das said after meeting Modi.
VHP leader
Champat Rai, who was elected as the trust’s general secretary, was present at the meeting along with treasurer Swami Govind Dev Giri and Supreme Court lawyer
K Parasaran. At their first meeting on Wednesday, members of the trust had thanked the PM and the government for working hard to ensure a peaceful atmosphere in the wake of the SC’s verdict awarding the disputed site to Hindus.
The next meeting of the trust will take place in Ayodhya after Holi when the date for construction may be announced. Although there is speculation that construction may start in April, which has many auspicious days, Das hinted that it may start after six months by when technical evaluation of the land will be completed .
“Most probably, temple construction will start in six months from now, and since the temple will be a grand one, it may take more than two years to complete," Das said. “When CM
Yogi Adityanath and PM Modi are associated with the work of temple construction, you can imagine how grand it will be,” He added. Das also claimed more land would be acquired for the temple if required.
