Around four lakh candidates to appear for first KAS prelim exam on Saturday
As many as 3,84,661 candidates did download their admission ticket. Examination would be held at 1535 centres across the state. There would be test on two papers.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The preliminary written examination to Kerala Administrative Service would be held on Saturday. Close to four lakh candidates are expected to sit for the first examination to the cadre.
"As many as 3,84,661 candidates did download their admission ticket. Examination would be held at 1535 centres across the state. There would be test on two papers. The paper one exam would start at 10 am the second the second paper at 1. 30 pm. All candidates are expected to reach the exam venue 15 minutes before each test. None of the applications would be given entry to the exam hall after the bells at 10 am and 1.30 pm", an official statement from Kerala Public Service Commission said.
Candidates are not supposed to carry with them any electronic devices, including watches, to the examination hall. "Candidates can take only their admission ticket, identity proof and pen to the exam hall. They can keep mobile phone, watch, purse and other personal belongings in the cloak room set up at all examination centre. Candidates should try to take only minimum articles to the examination centre", PSC examination controller said.
The examination would be held under strict security arrangements. Thiruvananthapuram has the highest number of exam centres ( 1534) and Wayanad has the least ( 30). Since candidate are not supposed to carry watches to exam hall, they would have to keep a tab on the ringing of bell.
The exam result is expected to be published in a month after the test. KAS main examination is likely to be held in September-October period. As per the schedule, PSC is expected to publish the first rank list by November 1. Entry to the state's IAS quota would be on the basis of the service in KAS cadre.
