Daimler is extending the contract of China chief Hubertus Troska to the end of 2025, reflecting the Mercedes brand’s outstanding performance in its top market, parent Daimler said in a news release.
Troska, 59, has been a Daimler management board member as well as CEO and chairman of Daimler Greater China since 2012.
His current contract was set to expire at the end of the year. Troska joined Daimler's overseas sales department as a manager in 1988.
Mercedes-Benz surpassed Audi to become the largest luxury automotive brand in China in 2019, with local deliveries increasing 6.2 percent to 693,443.
The China sales tally accounted for more than 28 percent of the brand’s global passenger-vehicle volume last year.
