Colva: Man accused of killing wife acquitted

COLVA: Bihar native Shyamsunder Pandey, 36, accused of murdering his wife in 2018, was acquitted by South Goa principal district and sessions judge B P Deshpande.
In her complaint on December 6, 2018, Zuarinagar resident Sajeena Yashodharan had stated that the accused, who had been residing in accommodation rented out by her, had poured kerosene on his wife, Sangita Devi, 36, and set her ablaze.
Pandey, who had fled, was subsequently nabbed at Vasco railway station. He was charged with murder by the Verna police when Devi succumbed to her injuries five days later .
After recording the examination of 11 witnesses in support of the prosecution’s case, Pandey was acquitted.TNN
