Man sends obscene photos to ex-lover’s groom, booked

Kanpur: A woman’s marriage was called off after her ex-boyfriend allegedly uploaded her obscene videos and pictures on social media and also forwarded them to her fiancé and his family in Chakeri area of the city.
The woman approached the police on Wednesday and lodged a complaint against the accused, identified as Vikas Jaiswal of Chakeri.
Police have launched a search to nab the accused who is on the run. according to cops, the marriage was scheduled to take place next month.
In her complaint, the woman said she developed relationship with her one-time classmate, Vikas Jaiswal, after meeting him on social media about a year ago.
Jaiswal, however, exploited her sexually on several occasions on the pretext of marriage.
Later, Jaiswal refused to marry her on the ground that she came from a lower caste, police said.
However, when the accused came to know about the woman’s marriage with someone else, he uploaded her inappropriate videos and pictures on social media and sent them to her fiancé and his family following which the marriage was called off.
Jaiswal has been booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) including 376 (rape) of IPC and Section 67 A (publishing or transmitting of material containing sexually explicit act) of the Information Technology Act.
“An FIR has been lodged against the accused following a complaint by the woman on Wednesday. We are conducting raids to arrest him,” said inspector, Chakeri, Ranjit Rai.
