GURUGRAM: A Class 12 passout has been booked under the Pocso Act for allegedly raping a 16-year-old student from his former school last month.
The girl, a Class 11 student, met the juvenile in school and they became friends. The boy, who is 18 years old now, passed out from the school two years ago. They remained in touch after that as well and also met each other from time to time, police said.
In January, the juvenile visited the school and met the girl. He allegedly took her to an isolated place behind the school, where he forced himself upon her. He threatened her of dire consequences if she revealed the crime to anyone, the girl told police.
Scared, she didn’t tell anyone about the crime for a month. She finally revealed her ordeal to her mother last week, after which the latter approached police. On the basis of her complaint, an FIR was registered against the juvenile under Section 4 (aggravated sexual assault) of the Pocso Act at Women’s police station (west) on Thursday. “The teenager has not been apprehended so far. An investigation is underway,” police spokesperson Subhash Boken said.
In another case, a 50-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly molesting a five-year-girl in Dundahera. The man has been identified as UP resident Dashrath.
He was in Gurugram to visit his daughter, who lives in Dundahera and works with a private company in the city. Police said on Wednesday, he was at his daughter’s home while she was away at work. He allegedly lured the child to the house with the promise of sweets and molested her. Dashrath was produced in a local court on Thursday, which sent him to judicial custody.
(The victim's identity has not been revealed to protect her privacy as per Supreme court directives on cases related to sexual assault)
