Asaduddin Owaisi's party AIMIM has stirred up two major controversies in the past few days. First, party leader Waris Pathan made an allegedly inflammatory speech at an anti-CAA rally in Karnataka. In apparent reference towards Muslim and Hindu populations of India, he said that 15 crore woul be heavy on 100 crore. While Waris was forced to issue an explanation after he was criticised, his party landed in another row hours later. At an AIMIM rally in Bengaluru, a girl who was on stage raised 'Pakistan Zindabad' slogan. While AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi expressed unhappiness over the sloganeering, but despite that the girl continued to raise slogans until she was taken off stage. The BJP has hit out at AIMIM and the anti-CAA protesters, saying the protests have been taken over by radical elements.
