Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra welcome their second child, a baby girl

It was back in November 2009 that Bollywood actor Shilpa Shetty Kundra tied the knot with businessman Raj Kundra. The two welcomed their first child, son Viaan Raj Kundra on May 12, 2012, and today, the family of three has grown larger with the arrival of the couple's second child, a baby girl.

Announced just minutes ago, the big news has taken Bollywood fans by surprise, and was broken on Shetty Kundra's official Instagram page with the most adorable photograph. The star put up a close up her daughter clutching onto her finger, and while we haven't seen the baby's face yet, there's no missing the cute white onesie she wears in the snapshot, embroidered with a little bunny.

Along with the picture, Shilpa Shetty Kundra also revealed fresh details about her daughter. Already six days old, Samisha Shetty Kundra was born via surrogacy on February 15, 2020. Her name doesn't just give her the same initials as her superstar mom, it also comes with a special meaning. "'Sa' in Sanskrit is 'to have', and 'Misha' in Russian stands for 'someone like God'," the actor explained. "You personify this name - our Goddess Laxmi, and complete our family."

Father Raj Kundra also shared the same news on his Instagram page, saying, "I can’t express how happy I am to announce the newest member of our family Samisha Shetty Kundra 🙏🙏🙏 blessed with a baby girl #gratitude."

It comes as no surprise that the post has already earned thousands of likes online, and many hearty congratulations from close family and friends including Malaika Arora and Riddhima Kapoor Sahni.

Shilpa Shetty Kundra and Raj Kundra aren't the only celebrity couple to have been blessed with a baby recently. Within the past few months, actors Kalki Koechlin, Esha Deol and Aayush Sharma have also shared big news with their fans.
