Court denies bail to three in Narol fire case

AHMEDABAD: A sessions court on the Mirzapur rural court campus on Thursday rejected bail applications filed by three officials of Nandan Denim Ltd in Narol, where a unit had caught fire resulting in the deaths of seven employees earlier this month.
While rejecting the bail pleas filed by the company’s director P K Sharma, general manager of the shirting division B C Patel and fire safety officer Ravikant Sinha, the court said that the settlement between the victims’ kin and the accused by paying them compensation of Rs 10 lakh each cannot be a grounds for the court to show leniency to the accused.
