Allahabad: Allahabad University (
AU) felicitated nine meritorious students who had missed the convocation during a special programme on Thursday.
The nine students were awarded 16 medals and were feted by AU officiating vice-chancellor RR Tewari.
“You have earned laurels for yourself and the institution with your hard work and have emerging as inspiration for other students as well,” said Tewari. BA (economics) student Savita was awarded four medals including the Hari Prava silver medal, The other students which were feted with gold medals were Shambhu Nath Shukla, Shyam Bihari Lal and Hari Shankar Shukla. LLB (Hons) students Syed Najam Ullah bagged three medals including the Lumsden Gold Medal, Sir Henry Richards Gold Medal and Ram Mohan De Gold Medal.
AU controller of examination RK Singh said, “AU had organised its convocation on September 5, 2019, but some students weren’t able to attend it. These students were awarded medals at today’s function as we wanted to formally recognize their achievements.”
