Punjab: Two hockey players shot dead in Patiala

PATIALA: Unidentified criminals allegedly shot dead two hockey players outside an eatery in Patiala's Pratap Nagar area on Wednesday night.
The deceased have been identified as Amrik Singh, son of Gurjant Singh and Simranjit Singh Happy, son of Darshan Singh. Amrik Singh was a national-level player while Simranjit Singh had recently been selected for the Indian squad.
After receiving the information about the incident, the police reached the spot to investigate the matter and shifted the bodies to the mortuary of Government Rajindra Hospital.
Sources said both the players had a tiff with some people outside the dhaba at around 11pm.
