MVA will do good work: Chief Minister

PUNE: Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Wednesday expressed confidence that Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), a three-party coalition that formed the government in the State, will do good work. 

On the sidelines of a function to mark the birth anniversary of Maratha ruler Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj at Shivneri Fort, Uddhav Thackeray said, “We (Congress, Shiv Sena, NCP) have come together, formed a government and we will do good work. This MVA is a common man’s government.” 

Shivneri Fort in Junnar is the birthplace of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, Minister Chhagan Bhujbal, Minister Aditi Tatkare, MP Amol Kolhe and other dignitaries were also present at Shivneri Fort.  On the occasion, Pawar announced Rs 23 crore for the development and renovation of Shivneri Fort. He said, “Renovation of this fort will not be hampered due to the lack of development funds.”

PLAINTS AGAINST MARATHA AGITATORS WILL BE WITHDRAWN: PAWAR
Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar said that the police will withdraw complaints against agitators demanding reservation for the Maratha community. The police department had filed complaints under the Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act. “The government will try to withdraw police complaints against Maratha agitators within the framework of the law. The government will consider police complaints which were not under the Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act,” he said. He also denied having any difference with Thackeray on Elgar Parishad issue.
