Bicholim: ‘Information on Shivaji in textbook will be corrected’

BICHOLIM: Chief minister Pramod Sawant has assured to get the distortion of history of Shivaji in the Class XI History book corrected in the next academic year. He made the statement on Shivaji Jayanti after Hindu Janjagruti Samiti (HJS) submitted a memorandum to him highlighting the issue.
The right-wing Hindutva outfit led a delegation to the chief minister and the director of education highlighting the distortion on Shivaji’s history as well as of Sambhaji when the Maratha emperor had brought major parts of Goa under his rule in the 17th century.
