Lt Gen Mohanty interacts with Army Law College students

PUNE:  Army Commander of Southern Command Lt Gen CP Mohanty visited Army Law College at Kanhe to witness the progress of ongoing projects and interacted with students and staff on Wednesday.

The staff and students were enthralled by the interaction with the General Officer. 

During the interaction, the Army Commander emphasised that being the pioneer batch of the college, the students have a major role to play in enhancing the reputation and image of the college by showing their high professional standards and legal expertise attained during the training at the college. 

The visit by Lt Gen CP Mohanty to Army Law College soon after assuming command of the prestigious Southern Army highlights his focus area to enhance the standard of various educational institutes working under the Army Welfare Educational Society in Southern Command Theater.

The prestigious Army Law College, Pune came into existence on  July 16, 2018 at Kanhe on land donated by Radha Kaliandas Daryanani Charitable Trust, one of the largest donations to the Army by any private player. 

In the last two years, the institute has transformed and has increased intake of students and infrastructure development activities.

The Army Law College is a residential institute affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University, offering five-year integrated BBA LLB course. 

This is the second professional college to be established in Pune under the aegis of Army Welfare Education Society, after the Army Institute of Technology. 

The institution aims to prepare students to pursue a career at the bar, judicial services, armed forces, civil services, corporate houses and other reputed organisations. 

The infrastructure being constructed at present includes a state-of-the-art and eco-friendly academic block, administrative block, an auditorium with a seating capacity of 500 and hostel for boys and girls.
