Metro stations to come up near LLR Hospital, Motijheel

Kanpur: Metro stations would be constructed near LLR hospital and Motijheel. Out of nine Metro stations, the biggest station will be constructed between IIT and Motijheel for which barricading has been done in Tulsi Upvan.
In the beginning, water and sewage pipes, communication lines and drainage system running underground would be shifted to enable the construction agency to carry out the work of the stations.
At present, the agency is constructing pillars between IIT-Kanpur and Kalyanpur station. So far, 27 pillars have been constructed and the work of soil piling is also being carried out by the agency, a Metro official told TOI.
After allocation of Rs 358 crore in the budget, the pace of work would continue, he added.
A total of nine stations between IIT and Motijheel are to be constructed, and the station at Motijheel would be the biggest station as it would extend from a part of Bal Udyan to Tulsi Upvan, the official said.
