PUNE: A 20-year-old student died after falling 350 feet from the Hadsar fort in Junnar on Wednesday morning.

The deceased, Siddhi Kamthe came along with a group of 35 trekkers to visit the fort on account of celebration of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti. 

As per the Junnar police, the deceased hailed from Chinchpokali in Mumbai.

The police said the incident took place at 11.30 am. The group started their trek at 9 am. The victim slipped and fell, which led to her death. 

After Siddhi fell into the valley, the group members raised an alarm and called nearby residents.

The group also alerted Junnar police about the incident. Although Siddhi was rushed to a local hospital, she succumbed to her injuries.
