A man has been arrested for raping a teenage girl while she was sleeping at a home in rural NSW.

The 38-year-old man, who is known to the 18-year-old woman, was arrested in west Tamworth on Thursday morning and charged with sexual touching and sex without consent.

He was granted strict conditional bail and is due to front Tamworth Local Court on March 16.
