West Bengal: Mamata Banerjee convenes meeting to finalize Poll strategy

The West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress supremo Miss Mamata Banerjee has convened a meeting in Kolkata today to finalize the party’s strategy for ensuing civic polls in the state.

Elections to the Kolkata Municipal Corporation and 107 other civic bodies are likely to be held in the middle of April this year. An official of the State Election Commission told that discussions are on over completing the election process by April.

These elections are being tipped as Mini Assembly Polls ahead of the crucial 2021 Assembly election in West Bengal. The ruling Trinamool Congress is in power in most of the civic bodies where elections are due. The BJP has demanded deployment of central forces for free and fare Municipal Elections.
