A Dodge Challenger SRT Demon modified by Speedkore with an all-carbon fiber body is currently up for sale from Texas dealer BJ Motors on DuPont Registry.
Speedkore unveiled its carbon-clad Demon at the SEMA Show in 2018 and ended up building four examples. This particular one is the last of those four and has only ever been driven 6 miles (9.6 km).
While it’s more common (and far more financially viable) to upgrade a car like the Demon with mechanical modifications to improve its performance, Speedkore’s focus with the muscle car was to strip away unnecessary weight to make it faster. As such, all of the exterior panels have been replaced by custom-made carbon fiber parts. All up, this saves approximately 200 lbs (90.7 kg).
The Demon which Speedkore initially presented at SEMA also underwent some significant engine modifications that saw the supercharger ditched in favor of two turbochargers, resulting in a 6.2-liter V8 powerplant churning out no less than 1,400 hp. This Demon from Speedkore hasn’t undergone such alterations and retains its standard engine meaning it offers up 840 hp.
The carbon adorning the exterior of the car appears extraordinarily well done and really adds to the car’s appeal. The fact that just four Demons on earth benefited from Speedkore’s craftsmanship also means it’s very rare and could prove to be a collectible down the road.
BJ Motors is asking $169,995 for the car, roughly double the car’s original $86,000 price tag. However, a look at the used car market reveals there are many used Demons out there with price tags exceeding $120,000 so an extra $50,000 for the carbon fiber doesn’t seem overly exorbitant.
