Rajkot: Scores of traders and businessmen from across Saurashtra will be attending the ‘Namaste Trump’ event in Ahmedabad on February 24. Various trade and industry bodies have been invited by the state government for the inauguration of the world’s largest cricket stadium at Ahmedabad at the hands of PM Narendra Modi and US president Donald Trump.
Parth Ganatra, vice president of Rajkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry said, “Nearly 15 representatives from RCCI will be attending the event in Ahmedabad. We are also expecting to meet trade delegation from the USA.”
Nilesh Jeparia, president of Morbi Ceramic Association said, “About 25 representatives from our association are taking part in the event. After China’s crisis, the window for USA market has opened for us.”
Some industrialists have expressed apprehension over the tight security at the venue. A businessman who did not wish to be named said, “We have been informed to take seat hours early of the event, we have to park our vehicle few kilometers far and have to walk towards event. Some of the members are reluctant to go looking to the security.”
