MG Hector crosses 50,000 bookings

MG Motor India announced that bookings its first product in the Indian market, MG Hector, has crossed 50,000 units. So far, it has sold 19,060 units since its launch.  

Speaking on these bookings, Gaurav Gupta, chief commercial officer, MG Motor India, said, “The Hector continues its strong momentum in the Indian market, crossing the 50,000-mark in terms of bookings received in just 8 months since its launch. We continue to accelerate this momentum by opening new brand outlets closer to our prospective customers in tier-I and tier-II cities. With plans to launch the Hector Plus six-seater family version in Q3 2020, we aim to further strengthen the Hector brand in India.”

The carmaker has already expanded its operational footprint to over 200 centers across India and aims to expand it to 250 by March. The brand is also planning to launch MG Gloster in India around Diwali after showcasing it at the Auto Expo 2020.

MG Hector is available in 11 combinations across 4 variants and comes with 3 engine options – petrol, petrol hybrid, and diesel with the petrol engine available in both manual and automatic transmissions. The Diesel variant has sold 8612 units since launch. The petrol segment sales are slightly lower than the diesel engines at 7980 units while the petrol hybrid variant clocked sales of 2468 units.
