Woman found dead, husband, kin booked

Ghaziabad: A Sihani Gate resident and his family members were booked on Tuesday for dowry death after his 26-year-old wife was found dead at their home on Monday. The deceased, Swati, married Ankur on January 22, 2017, said her family members.
Ankur worked in a watch company and used to frequently thrash Swati as his demand for a motorcycle was not fulfilled during their marriage, said the woman’s father Devendra, adding that Ankur also had an extra-marital affair.
On Monday, Ankur apparently called Devendra and informed that Swati was not keeping well. “When we reached their house, we found Swati lying on the ground in an unconscious state. We rushed her to a nearby hospital where she was declared dead on arrival,” he added.
