Tamil Nadu: Auto driver found dead with head smashed at Avadi

CHENNAI: An autorickshaw driver was found dead with his head smashed in a bush near Avadi Tank Factory on Monday. The body was found near the meat shop owned by his family.
Investigation officers suspected that the man could have been killed somewhere and his body dumped in the bush later. A police team has collected CCTV camera footage from near the meat shop.
Preliminary inquiries revealed that Rajesh alias Bhujji, 36, a resident of Poompozhil Nagar in Avadi, left his house on Monday night after he received a call on his mobile and never returned. Rajesh's mother Nagarani and family members searched for him after he didn't return. His mobile was found switch off. They later lodged a complaint at the Avadi Tank Factory police station and searched for him in the area.
Meanwhile, a police team discovered Rajesh's body near the meat shop owned by the family and sent the body to the Government Hospital in Chennai for postmortem.
Inquiries revealed that Rajesh had visited a Tasmac shop bar at Kovilpadhagai on Monday night where some people had seen him talking angrily to someone over his phone. Police said they would check his mobile call log to find out whom Rajesh spoke angrily with.
The Avadi Tank Factory police have registered a case under IPC Section 302 (murder) and launched a search for the murderers.
