Photographer held for blackmailing girl

Coimbatore: A 28-year-old Singanallur-based photographer was arrested on Monday for blackmailing a girl using revealing photos he had clicked.
The man, Jishnu, a resident of Neelikonampalayam in Singanallur, had befriended the victim three years ago, police said. “A few months back, he told her that he knew many film directors and had helped many girls get into the film industry. He also complemented the victim on her looks and said she could get roles in movies. When the girl expressed interest, Jishnu, who runs a photo studio, asked her to create a portfolio. He made the girl pose in various costumes and took photos, a few off which could be construed obscene,” a police officer said. s
The man used the pictures to blackmail the girl, threatening to share the pictures with her relatives. The girl initially gave him money. However, when he demanded Rs 1.5 lakh a few days ago, the girl filed a police complaint.
