Defying Madras HC order, anti-CAA protestors in Tamil Nadu hit the streets in Chennai. Madras HC in its order had restrained “any political or Muslim organisation” from going ahead with the procession. Members of various Muslim outfits took out a protest march to Tamil Nadu Secretariat. Heavy security has also been put in place at the Chepauk area ahead of the protest as protesters proposed to lay siege to the Secretariat and the District Collector's office against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). Traffic has been stopped at Wallajah Salai and vehicles are not being allowed to proceed towards Chepalk Stadium.
