Even as the anti-CAA, NPR and NRC protests being held in Washermanpet in solidarity with the Shaheen Bagh protests are still going strong, a protest rally has been planned from kalaivanar arangam to Secretariat.
Sources said, the protesters have planned to beseige the Collectorate and secretariat during the rally.
The traffic in Wallajah road has been diverted and security has been beefed up along with surveillance drones.
Similarly, protests and rallys against CAA has been organised throughout the state including Trichy and Tirunelveli.
Earlier, the Madras High Court on Tuesday restrained the Federation of Tamil Nadu Islamic and Political Organisations from laying siege to the Secretariat to demand that the Assembly pass a resolution against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, the National Register of Citizens and the National Population Register.
