CHANDIGARH: Two children admitted to PGI's paediatric isolation ward on Monday were tested
negative for coronavirus on Tuesday night.
One of them is a six-year-old girl from Panchkula. She had come from Sydney to India in a flight that had a two-hour halt at the Singapore airport on February 7. The second is five months old boy from Kaithal, who was on the same flight.
Sources said these children had fever and cough, but their respiratory functions were normal. Their samples had been sent to the AIIMS on Monday. "The children will be discharged soon," said a doctor. The parents of these children have been quarantined at home.
Earlier, two
coronavirus suspect cases had been admitted to PGI. One of them was a resident of Mohali and an NRI from Singapore. He was admitted to PGI on January 27. He later tested negative, as confirmed by National Institute of Virology, Pune. The second case was of a resident of Sector 37 working in a Singapore-based company. He was admitted to PGI on February 15. He too was later tested negative for the virus.
