Fund trauma centre in each district hospital: Haryana MLAs

Legislators focused on girl education on the second day of meeting
CHANDIGARH: MLAs from different parties in Haryana on Tuesday demanded special allocation for tertiary care or trauma centres at district hospitals and improved infrastructure in rural health centres. They also sought special allocations under social justice pension schemes and new career-oriented courses for girls, especially those from rural areas.
The legislators raised these demands during the second day of pre-budget discussion organised by the Haryana government at Red Bishop Convention Centre in Panchkula on the initiative of chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar, who also holds the finance department charge.
“Health facilities should top our priority list. We have sought the trauma centre-like facilities in rural areas. At the same time, we want some need-based changes in Ayushman scheme to facilitate the poor,” said BJP’s Faridabad MLA Narender Gupta.
Yamunanagar MLA Ghanyam Dass also raised the issue of adequate health services in hospitals and health centres. He called for the setting up of heart care centres and dialysis centres in all district hospitals, on the lines of Panchkula, Ambala and Gurgaon. “Once you are providing good health services, you are doing your best,” he said.
The Badhra MLA and mother of deputy CM Dushyant Chautala, Naina Chautala, strongly advocated for skill development-linked quality education for girls, especially those coming from villages. “A special focus be put on educational institutions, transportation means and skill-linked education for girls. There should be adequate buildings, classrooms, benches and so on for girls. After girls decide on their career, they should be given adequate guidance so that they fulfil their dreams,” she said.
