Mamta Banerjee, Partha Chatterjee and others attend Tapas Paul’s funeral

Prominent Bengali actor and former MP Tapas Paul breathed his last in a Mumbai hospital on Tuesday. He was 61. His funeral held on Wednesday saw All India Trinamool Congress' leaders and personalities from the Bengali entertainment industry in attendance.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had earlier tweeted, "Saddened & shocked to hear about the demise of Tapas Paul. He was a superstar of Bengali cinema who was a member of the Trinamool family. Tapas served the people as a two-term MP and MLA. We will miss him dearly.
