DAVV cancels Tagore College autonomy
The decision was taken in the meeting of deans which was conducted on Tuesday.

INDORE: Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV) cancelled autonomy of Tagore College on Tuesday. The varsity has also written to Directorate of Higher Education (DHE) seeking permission to transfer the college students.
The decision was taken in the meeting of deans which was conducted on Tuesday.
"We have decided to cancel their autonomy as it was only for a year and they were expected to get 'A' grade to maintain the status of the autonomy. We are trying to get the students transferred as soon as possible. We will conduct the examination of all students of Tagore College," DAVV vice-chancellor Dr Renu Jain told TOI.
It was also decided to conduct the examination of various medical students who had been transferred to Madhya Pradesh Medical Science University, Jabalpur. As Jabalpur University has asked DAVV to conduct the exam due to the lack of infrastructure, difference in the subject scheme and staff crunch, the final nod for exam was given during the meeting, said Jain.
DAVV has decided that the examination of law courses will be conducted on a conditional basis.
The colleges will be instructed to get the certificate from Bar Council of India (BCI) latest by March 31.
Six out of the 13 law colleges affiliated to DAVV had not got the certificate from BCI due to which the varsity had not been conducting their examination. In case, the colleges don't submit it by last date, the varsity will declare the result of their students, DAVV spokesperson Dr Chandan Gupta said.
