First look: Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh as Romi and Kapil Dev in '83

After months of sneak peeks, Bollywood fans finally get to see Deepika Padukone in a whole new avatar with Ranveer Singh in their movie, '83. Check out the brand new picture here

Ever since they began dating, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone have been serving up couple goals for their fans. The duo, who have worked in several films together in the past, including Bajirao Mastani (2015), Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela (2013) and Padmaavat (2018), will now be coming together for the first time since their Lake Como wedding, with Kabir Khan's '83. If you follow Singh on social media, you're likely to have already seen several sneak peeks of the actor in his latest avatar. Dressed in Team India's cardigan on the pitch, Singh makes a convincing Kapil Dev, and cricket fans everywhere seem to agree.

What fans have not had a chance to see yet, however, is Deepika Padukone's look for the movie. Fast forward to this morning, followers woke up to Padukone's first look as Kapil Dev's wife, Romi Dev. Among the first to share the snapshot was Singh himself, who posted the movie still saying, "The Wind beneath my Wings ❤ The Heart of the Hurricane." Within minutes of hitting the internet, the sweet first look of the star couple as the Devs has earned itself thousands of likes and comments. While Singh smiles at Padukone in a sharp suit, she paints a striking image of Romi Dev with her shaggy bob. The actor also recently chopped her long locks into a fun, shorter do.

Following Singh's post, Padukone also took to her own official Instagram account to share the new '83 image, and revealed more details about her appearance in the movie. "To be able to play a small part in a film that captures one of the most iconic moments in sporting history has been an absolute honour," Padukone shared. "I've seen very closely the role a wife plays in the success of her husband’s professional and personal aspirations in my mother and '83 for me in many ways is an ode to every woman who puts her husband’s dream before her own."

Can't wait to see Padukone and Singh come together once again on the big screen? The wait is almost over. '83 hits theatres on April 10, 2020.
