Swarozgar boost for Lucknow University students

LUCKNOW: Students of Lucknow University (LU) will now be able to conduct research on employment opportunities, job trend and more to help the varsity provide better placement to its graduates.
The same will be facilitated by the Mahatma Gandhi international self-employment research chair to be set up at LU for which the state government sanctioned a grant of Rs 2 crore in its budget on Tuesday. The chair will work on the Gandhian principle of ' swarozgar (self-employment)' and help students convert innovative ideas into startups.
"The research chair will boost employment generation. There will be a gallery dedicated to great personalities, a library, special training for startups and classes by experts from different fields to help students land best jobs," said LU spokesperson Durgesh Srivastava.
