Scandic Hotels has launched its new hotel brand, Scandic Go.
It is set to open four properties in Stockholm and one in Oslo in 2020, followed by one in Copenhagen in 2021.
Targeting the “growing economy hotel segment,” Scandic Go will offer city centre locations with reduced facilities – for example no full service-restaurants, meeting rooms or gyms.
Hotels will be furnished with “a playful, young and urban design”, while guest services, including check-in, check-out and room access, will be through the Scandic App.
Limited food and drink offerings will be available.
Jens Mathiesen, CEO of Scandic Hotels, said:
“In bigger cities, we’ve seen changes in the way new and returning guests spend their time both in and outside of the hotels.
“Now is the perfect time to expand our offering and establish Scandic in a segment where we see strong potential to grow.”
Mathiesen expects the brand to increase Scandic’s room capacity to 2,500-3,000.
