Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (Tata Power-DDL) announced the appointment of Ganesh Srinivasan as the company’s new CEO, with effect from December 2, 2019. Tata Power-DDL is a Public-Private Partnership, joint venture company, between Tata Power and Govt of National Capital Territory of Delhi, which distributes electricity to a populace of over seven million in North Delhi. 

Srinivasan will take over from Sanjay Banga who has been elevated to the position of President Transmission & Distribution (T&D), Tata Power, Mumbai. In his new role, Banga will take care of all India operations of Tata Power related to the T&D sector.

Commenting on the appointments, Praveer Sinha, CEO & Managing Director, Tata Power & Chairman, Tata Power-DDL said, “Ganesh has a proven track record and he is a passionate leader. His ability to drive performance and work seamlessly with stakeholders will be valuable for Tata Power-DDL. I am sure that the company will scale new heights under his leadership.”

Sinha also added, “We are also delighted to have Sanjay joining as the President (T&D), Tata Power. He is a seasoned power sector professional and brings a unique combination of technical prowess and business acumen. He is the right person to contribute at this transformative time in the power industry and will bring greater value to all our stakeholders.”

Prior to moving to Tata Power-DDL, Srinivasan was the Chief T&D, Tata Power, Mumbai. He has been with Tata Power since September 2012 and has also headed the Strategy & Corporate Planning Division there. He brings with him two decades of experience in areas like power utility, infrastructure (cement, steel), product development and manufacturing, and the automotive sector. He has also spearheaded strategy, operations transformation and organisational development. He started his career with Cummins India Ltd and has also worked with McKinsey & Company.

 

Srinivasan is a B.Tech. from IIT Madras, an MBA from The Indian School of Business and has also pursued Masters in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University, US.
